Maura Roosevelt’s work has been published in places like The Nation and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. Her first novel, Baby of the Family, was developed from a short story with the same title, which was published in Joyland magazine and given an award for “Most Read Story of 2014.”

Maura has taught writing at NYU and the University of Southern California. She’s currently completing a PhD program at Columbia University, where she is investigating how to make writing studies more accessible and inclusive to diverse communities. She grew up in Cambridge, MA, spent a stint in Los Angeles, and now lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, her bicycle, and her toddler son.
